Bible Study

Concerning Small Groups.    Pastor Dennis Smith

Jesus said in Mt 18:20, "Where two or three are gathered together in my name, I will be in the midst of them" Proverbs 27:17 says, "As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another."  Both of these verses show the value of community, even if with one other person.  I believe in community and for me I find both online and in person community "sharpens" me. We all need community in some way.  If you can attend a Bible-believing local church, Bible study, prayer breakfast, etc., I encourage you to do so.  But if for what ever reason that doesn't work for you, I encourage you to reach out to someone with whom you can share our ministry and be a "sharpener" and prayer partner for each other. You could even do this online or by phone.

Speaking of groups, many small churches do not have a Sunday night or midweek study and would like to. Maybe they have 2-3 people interested but nobody who wants to lead.  I invite all churches to use these messages as a supplement to their ministry.  Our ministry is for everyone for the upbuilding of the body of Christ. The messages will remain posted and can be used for study anytime.  Use this freely for the glory of God!

For those interested, in the future we plan to have some in-person gatherings and Bible Studies in the Nashville area.  Let us know of your interest.

In this day and time there are several online Bible study opportunites where anyone can study at the time that fits their schedule, while still being able to interact with the members in a specific group. One such opportunity is Bible.com which is the website for the Youversion Bible app.  Through Youversion you can sign up for a study and invite friends to join with you. My only suggestion with these studies as they mostly focus on one or two verses, is to read verses before and after so you can get the context.  Context is always important in Bible study.  Download their app for your phone or click the button to go to their website. We encourage you to connect with someone through this or other avenues. There are several studies and Bible reading plans that you can do on your own as well. The button below will take you to Bible.com. I will be adding Bible Study resources from time to time on our links page.

Meet the Pastor

Pastor Dennis Smith has served as a pastor, chaplain and counselor for many years.  He is a graduate of Kentucky Christian University, Lincoln Christian Seminary and Indiana Christian University.  Pastor Dennis felt the Lord leading him to resign from the established church he was serving back in January of this year and shared that with the congregation.  His last Sunday there was April 9th, Ressurection Sunday.  Today Pastor Dennis seeks to reach and teach with the new vision the Lord has given through Passages Church.  He and his wife Sherry reside in Mt. Juliet, TN.
